Bringing Functional Textiles and Innovative Thai Fashion to Brazil

On 3 and 5 May 2018, the Royal Thai Embassy in Brasilia organized the event of Functional Textiles & Innovative Thai Fashion, which has an aim to promote the policy of Thailand 4.0.

Associate Professor Dr. AnothaiCholachatpinyo from Kasetsart University, who initiated the project so called  Function + Fashion and 2 top Thai designers from ISSUE and TandT joined hands to present Thai Fashion design with innovative materials for the Brazilian buyers and fashion gurus / specialists at SISSA showroom in São Paulo on 3 May 2018.
Moreover, on 5 May 2018, these 3 designers also presented their works in the 2nd Festival of Thailand in São Paulo. The fashion show was spectacular and drew a lot of attention from the Brazilian who went to the event.

The main purpose of this project is to promote the policy of Thailand 4.0. Especially, for the future of Thai Textile Supply Chain where innovations integrate with Fashion. The special and innovative materials that used in designs were present with well-designed cloths such as anti-bacterial, UV protection, cool touch and warm retaining, including, fluids repellents, drip-dry, anti-absorbent and fabric with collagen, etc.

The Royal Thai Government attaches great importance to creative economy and creative industry including those in the design sector which is the second largest creative industry having 23 % share of the total nominal value of the creative industry of Thailand.
