Non-Immigrant “ED” (Non-ED):Foreigners travelling to Thailand on educational purpose

ED1: To study in a basic education level (primary, elementary, and secondary school)

1.     Biodata page of valid Passport or Travel Document (with validity not less 6 months)

2.     Two recent (3.5 x 4.5 cm.) photographs of the applicant, taken within the past six months

3.     Letter confirming enrollment details from school signed by authorized person together with a copy of ID card or passport of the signer

4.     School’s registration certificate

5.     Approval letter from concerned authority under the Ministry of Education

6.     Yellow Fever Certificate

7.     Consular officers reserve the rights to request additional documents as deemed necessary

 

 

 

ED2: To study in a higher education level (university and college)

1.     Biodata page of valid Passport or Travel Document (with validity not less 6 months)

2.     Two recent (3.5 x 4.5 cm.) photographs of the applicant, taken within the past six months

3.     Letter confirming enrollment details from school signed by authorized person together with a copy of ID card or passport of the signer

4.     University’s registration certificate

5.     Academic certificate from previous education level

6.     Police Record issued by the Police in Brazil or the country of residence (the Police Record must be in English and issued within one month)

7.     Yellow Fever Certificate

8.     Consular officers reserve the rights to request additional documents as deemed necessary

 

Non-Immigrant  “O” for accompanying family members:

- Full-time student under 20 years old: The student’s parents must show proofs of family relationship and a letter of certification from the educational institution in Thailand.

 

- Full-time student above 20 years old: The student’s spouse and children must show proofs of family relationship and a letter of certification from the educational institution in Thailand. Civil partnership certificate is not accepted.

 

- Not applicable for students who take informal courses e.g. Thai language or cultural training courses.

 

- Dependents are prohibited to work in Thailand.

 

ED3: Internship (Curricular internship), Attending workshop training or seminar organized by International Organization, Informal courses(if it is a paid internship,and that paid internship is not part of the University curriculum, Non-B visa must be obtained)

1.     Biodata page of valid Passport or Travel Document (with validity not less 6 months)

2.     Two recent (3.5 x 4.5 cm.) photographs of the applicant, taken within the past six months

3.     Letter confirming the internship/participation in a programme from the company/international organization

4.     Letter confirming the curricular internship from the visa applicant’s university/educational institute

5.     For informal courses e.g. Thai language and cultural training courses, applicants must provide documents which demonstrate that the course meets the minimum requirement as follows:

  •  If the course is less than 5 months, the period of study must be at least 4 days per week, 2 hours per day.
  • If the course is longer than 5 months, the period of study must be at least 5 days per week, 5 hours per day.

6.     Yellow Fever Certificate

7.     Consular officers reserve the rights to request additional documents as deemed necessary

ED4: Buddhism studies (Monk) or performing Buddhism ritual activities

1.     Biodata page of valid Passport or Travel Document (with validity not less 6 months)

2.     Two recent (3.5 x 4.5 cm.) photographs of the applicant, taken within the past six months

3.     Approval letter from National office of Buddhism

4.     Confirmation letter from the host temple

5.     Yellow Fever Certificate

6.     Consular officers reserve the rights to request additional documents as deemed necessary

 

ED5: Foreigner wishes to perform Buddhism ritual activities

1.     Biodata page of valid Passport or Travel Document (with validity not less 6 months)

2.     Two recent (3.5 x 4.5 cm.) photographs of the applicant, taken within the past six months

3.     Travel booking (air ticket paid in full)

4.     Financial evidence, e.g. bank statements, proof of earnings, proof of sponsorship from a third party

5.     Confirmation letter from the host temple

6.     Yellow Fever Certificate

7.     Consular officers reserve the rights to request additional documents as deemed necessary

 

ED6: Foreigners seeking to promote or involve in a religious mission with an approval from Thai concerned authority

1.     Biodata page of valid Passport or Travel Document (with validity not less 6 months)

2.     Two recent (3.5 x 4.5 cm.) photographs of the applicant, taken within the past six months

3.     Approval letter from Thai concerned authority

4.     Confirmation letter from the host religious organization

5.     Religious organization’s registration certificate

6.     Yellow Fever Certificate

7.     Consular officers reserve the rights to request additional documents as deemed necessary
