TRANSIT VISA

 

 

1.  REQUIREMENT- This type of visa is issued to applicants who wish to enter the Kingdom for the following purposes:

  • to travel in transit for more than 12 hours through the Kingdom in order to proceed to the country of destination or to re-enter his/her own country (category "TS"). Visa must be applied even if the person has no intention to enter the Kingdom in case of transiting for more than      12 hours.
  • to participate in sports activities (sportsmen, sportswomen, etc.) (category "S")
  • Those who are scheduled to stay in the Kingdom longer than one month , Non-Immigrant Visa category “O” can be issued to them
  • the person in charge or crew of a conveyance coming to a port, station or area in the Kingdom (category "C")

 

2.  SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS

 

2.1Transit Visa (TS) (valid for maximum 4-time entries) – no Multiple Entry

1.  Biodata page of valid Passport or Travel Document (with validity not less than 6 months)

2.  Two recent (3.5 x 4.5 cm.) photographs of the applicant, taken within the past six months

3.  Travel booking confirmation (air ticket paid in full)

4.  Proof of accommodation in Thailand, e.g. accommodation bookings, invitation letters from family/friends in Thailand (In case that traveler wants to stopover in Thailand)

5.  Financial evidence, e.g. bank statements, proof of earnings, sponsorship letter (R$ 1,500 per person or R$ 2,500 per family)

6.  Yellow Fever Certificate

7.  Consular officers reserve the rights to request additional documents as deemed necessary

 

2.2 Transit Visa (S) (valid for maximum 4-time entries) – For athletes participating in sport events

1.    Biodata page of valid Passport or Travel Document (with validity not less than 6 months)

2.    Two recent (3.5 x 4.5 cm.) photographs of the applicant, taken within the past six months

3.    Travel booking confirmation (air ticket paid in full)

4.    Certificate from concerned authority of which supports the participation of the visa applicant or visa applicant’s agency in their country

5.    Invitation letter the sport event organizer

6.    Yellow Fever Certificate

7.    Consular officers reserve the rights to request additional documents as deemed necessary

 

2.3 Transit Visa (C) (valid for maximum 4-time entries) – For pilots,captains steering vehicles to Thailand’s ports or stations and crew

1.    Biodata page of valid Passport or Travel Document (with validity not less than 6 months)

2.    Two recent (3.5 x 4.5 cm.) photographs of the applicant, taken within the past six months
3.    Employment certificate as crew

4.    Yellow Fever Certificate

5.    Consular officers reserve the rights to request additional documents as deemed necessary

 

3.VISA APPLICATION FORM – Click here to download Twoapplication forms must be completely filled out and signed where indicated. Failure to submit the correct application form or submission of an incomplete application form will result in your application not being processed.  

 

4.VISA APPLICATION FEE – R$ 100 per entry with maximum of 4 entries

 

5. PROCESSING TIME– Please allow 3 working days for visa application to be processed. No exception will be made so it is the responsibility of the applicants to plan ahead.

 

6. METHODS OF APPLICATION

6.1 Apply directly at the Royal Thai Embassy in Brasilia from Monday to Friday from 9 am -12 pm. (except on public holidays)

6.2 By post

6.2.1 Application from Brazil – Applicants may apply through post by preparing required documents and fees and send to the Embassy along with a fee for the Embassy to return the processed visa back to the applicant via Sedex. The Embassy assumes no responsibility for the content / check put inside the envelope.    

6.2.2 Application from Guyana and Suriname – Applicants may apply through express / international couriers. Please attach a check for the fees as well as a pre-paid return envelope. Please allow at least 2 weeks for the whole process. The Embassy assumes no responsibility for the content / check put inside the envelope.    

 

7. VALIDITY OF A VISA- The validity of a visa is three months.

             

8. PERIOD OF STAY - Travelers coming to Thailand with this type of visa will be permitted to stay in the Kingdom for a period not exceeding 30 days.

 

9. EXTENSION OF STAY - Those who wish to stay longer or may wish to change their type of visa must file an application for permission at the Office of Immigration Bureau located on Government Center B, Chaengwattana Soi 7, Laksi, Bangkok 10210, Tel 0-2141-9889 (or at http://www.immigration.go.th).    The extension of stay as well as the change of certain type of visa is solely at the discretion of the Immigration officer.


10. REMARKS

10.1 Please note that the Consul reserves the right to request any additional documents, or an interview with the applicant, as deemed necessary, without prior notice.

10.2The Royal Thai Embassy reserves the right to reject any visa application with insufficient documents or if the reasons given are not fully supported.

10.3 The visa application fee is non-refundable.
